A customer’s domain was recently used to scam one of their investors and I am providing details of the incident to help you protect yourselves.

“Typo squatting" or "domain squatting" is the term used for those who register domain names similar to popular websites - gogle.com vs. google.com, etc. Many of these popular domains go ahead and register the most frequently mis-typed versions, then set up a redirect to the correct URL. Alternatively, subscription services are available to help protect your domain from fraudulent activity.

Having never used one, I can't offer a personal recommendation but found numerous companies advertising typo squatting prevention. Here are a few that looked promising.

Please let me know if you would like some help evaluating them!
